Butterfly is re-opening Monday June 8, 2020. Please note that we are still REQUIRED to limit the number of in-person visits for the safety of staff, clients and families. Therapists are taking close consideration of which services should continue to be provided remotely and which can safely resume in-person. Please refer to our Special Programs page to review our NEW Policies and Procedures surrounding COVID-19.

COVID-19 – New Policies and Procedures

COVID-19 – New Policies and Procedures 2020-06-06T14:39:42+00:00
  • Two Step Screening Protocol – 24-48 hours prior to your appointment via email and again when you arrive at Butterfly for your visit. Only clients and essential visitors who screen negative will be seen in-centre.
  • Essential Visitors ONLY – in order to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission we ask that only one parent/guardian attend the appointment with the client (no siblings).
  • Face coverings – all clients and essential visitors will be asked to bring and wear their own mask for the duration of their visit at Butterfly (children under 2 years of age are not required to wear a mask but for children of any age we can only do our best to encourage it, it is not mandatory). Therapists will be wearing masks and possibly face shields.
  • Hand Hygiene – all clients, essential visitors and staff will wash their hands prior to and after each session with hand soap and water in the washroom or hand sanitizer. Hand sanitizer will be available at each treatment area and at the front door as you leave.
  • Physical Distancing – obviously this is not possible with your treating therapist, however we ask that you stay at least 2 metres apart from other therapists and families on site. Appointments will be staggered by 15 minutes to minimize clients and families coming and going at the same time and to allow time in-between appointments for thorough cleaning and disinfecting. Please note there will be fewer therapists treating in the building at the same time in order to adhere to physical distancing guidelines.
  • Process for Booking Appointments – please book with your therapist directly at the time of the appointment or call 905-206-0300 or email info@butterflytherapy.com in order to book with Mary. Please remember that therapist schedules will vary as our capacity will be reduced.
  • No waiting area – we ask that families arrive on time for their appointment and text their therapist. Therapists will come to unlock the door, review the screen and take you directly into the treatment area.
  • Washroom – we recommend limited use by clients and essential visitors, babies can be changed in treatment areas.
  • Payment – Mary will not be available at reception, we ask that payment be made via e-transfer to keiri@butterflytherapy.com after the appointment or by credit cards on file. Receipts will be emailed to you once paid.
  • Cleaning and Disinfecting – all treatment areas will be cleaned and disinfected prior to and after each client interaction, all toys and equipment used in a session will be cleaned and disinfected thoroughly using Health Canada approved products.
  • If you feel sick – STAY HOME.
  • Virtual Therapy (telehealth) – all of the therapists at Butterfly are offering this service and it has proven to be a successful alternative to in-centre care for many appropriate children. Butterfly will continue to offer virtual services upon re-opening. Virtual services may be recommended for your child by their therapist.
