Yes. We offer free parking at both sites.

Initial Assessment: During the initial assessment, the therapist will have a discussion with you and your child (if appropriate) regarding your concerns. Depending on the age of your child, this will be followed by a standardized assessment. Using this information, the therapist will recommend a treatment plan to best meet the child’s needs and then decide with the family how this will be implemented.  Follow-up could include weekly or bi-weekly treatment sessions, home program recommendations and any need for a referral to other services.

Follow Up Treatment Sessions: All treatments at Butterfly are one on one with the therapist. We offer 25-minute treatment sessions and 45-minutes treatment sessions. Parents are welcome to sit in on sessions but we highly discourage siblings as this can be quite disruptive. We also offer group sessions and camps at certain times of the year. Call us for more information on group therapy offerings.

The private therapeutic services provided by Butterfly are not covered through OHIP. Payment will therefore be provided through extended health benefit plans, private pay or charitable funding sources.
All insurance plans are different. If you have private extended health benefits, often your child is covered under your plan the same way it is covered for you. However, we recommend that you contact your insurance company directly prior to attending your appointment as insurance plans may vary.
All services must be paid for after each session at Butterfly. We accept cash, debit, Visa, Amex and MasterCard. Following each visit, you will be provided with a receipt that you can submit to your insurance company.
You do not require a Doctor’s referral to access our services. However, some insurance companies will require a doctor’s referral in order to cover the cost of the service.
Butterfly employs Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTA) and Communication Disorders Assistants (CDA). These therapists are experts in treatment but do not assess and thus are supervised by our OTs or SLPs who establish therapy goals based on the initial assessment. Therapy will be carried out by the assistants for a recommended block of therapy, typically 6-8 weeks. The OTAs and CDAs meet weekly with their supervising OT or SLP to discuss your child’s progress and change goals as needed. It’s like having two sets of eyes on your child.
Both OTA and CDA led treatment sessions are covered by OAP. All insurance plans are different, but most will cover treatment provided by an OTA and CDA. Please contact your insurance company for more information as insurance plans do vary.

At Butterfly, our Physiotherapists are trained in the assessment and treatment of gross motor delays and conditions, focusing more on the core and lower extremities. The Occupational Therapists at Butterfly are trained in the assessment and treatment of fine motor delays and conditions, feeding, play and sensory processing.

Based on your primary concern, we can help you to determine who best to get started with.

Depending on your availability, we will do our best to accommodate you as soon as possible. Evenings and weekends are our busiest times!

If a session needs to be rescheduled, please give us as much notice as possible. We ask that you provide us with at least 24 hours notice. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be billed a nominal fee of $30.00.

At Butterfly, we value your time and commitment to our services. We ask that you value our therapist’s time as well. Please note that the nominal fee of $30.00 goes directly to your therapist in compensation for their lost time. We have waitlists for appointment times and by missing a scheduled appointment you are taking that time slot away from another child and a family that may need it.

A missed appointment with no advanced notice will be billed in full and is your responsibility.

Butterfly offers virtual therapy services across all disciplines, for both assessment and treatment.
